Manuka Honey Face Mask

I absolutely love this face mask! Clean, pure, simple…….and incredibly effective. All you need is non-gmo Manuka honey, organic cinnamon, organic Camu Camu powder, and organic lemon……or organic apple cider vinegar. If you’re wondering why you’re going to slather this all over your face instead of eat it, please allow me to explain!

Manuka honey is the best of the best! It is produced in New Zealand by bees that pollinate the Manuka bush, and it is one of the most unique and beneficial forms of honey in the world. Manuka honey has a considerably higher level of enzymes than regular honey, and these enzymes create a natural hydrogen peroxide that works as an antibacterial/antimicrobial. So you guessed it…..yes…..Manuka honey can tackle your acne and eczema problems. It is also a potent anti-inflammatory,  so it can soothe inflamed skin while healing blemishes. It balances the skin’s pH, and contains amino acids which slough away dead skin cells to keep those pores clear. Not only is Manuka honey great for anti-aging due to the way it increases collagen cross-linking (a key structural protein of the skin), but it also promotes structural growth of collagen in skin cells. If your skin is feeling dry, this is your answer! Manuka honey is a natural humectant, drawing moisture into the skin.

Camu Camu powder comes from the Peruvian rainforest shrub that grows along the Amazon River, and it contains the highest source of natural vitamin C on the planet, containing more than 30 times more vitamin C. Camu Camu is a natural healer for wounds and scars, promotes skin elasticity/cell rejuvenation, is essential for the synthesis of collagen, and can help reduce skin damage caused by free radicals. Cinnamon aids with the treatment of acne/pimples, as well as scars. It can also clear pores, and bring oxygen/blood to the surface of the skin. So I suppose you can call cinnamon your natural face/skin plumper! Woooo hooooo!

When a few drops of fresh organic lemon juice or apple cider vinegar is added, it helps to brighten skin, fade dark spots/age spots/acne scars, and eliminate impurities in the skin, due to their natural exfoliation properties. When using lemon on the skin, make sure to avoid UV exposure for at least 12 hours, and/or use sunscreen. Lemon is photosensitive (extreme sensitivity to UV rays from the sun), and the last thing you want is to make those dark spots, darker! That would be a big……negative!

Give this simple, effective mask a try! I hope you love it as much as I do!
